Who is Lonnie Colson?

As you have probably already guessed by now, my name is Lonnie Colson, and this is my personal web site. I have spent countless hours over the last several years continually (sporadically might be a more appropriate description) improving its content and appearance. It has evolved right along side of me as I have traveled to exotic new locations, experienced the allure of different peoples and cultures, and discovered new and exhilarating hobbies. I have literally invested so much of myself in these pages that I am delighted you have expressed an interest in browsing through my site. I've been living in the Chicago area for the better part of a decade. Several Christmases ago, I purchased a little home in the Schaumburg area, but I am originally from the Great State of Texas. I grew up in the region known as the panhandle, but I spent the last few of my Texas years down on the Southwest border. I am plain spoken and consider myself to be very down to earth, maybe with a little bit of Southern charm on the side. I still have something of a Texas accent–which some say adds flavor to my personality. For better or for worse, I lost most of the twang when I began learning Spanish a decade ago.

I enjoy having a good time at just about anything. I especially enjoy trying new things. My latest hobby that is dominating practically all of my free time–weather permitting–is the version of paintball sometimes referred to as 'woodsball'. Despite what you may think of the sport, it goes beyond what many would consider recreation. I am the captain of a scenario team known as the Hellions. Together we have built up a pretty solid reputation in the area, appearing in major paintball magazines and periodicals, receiving numerous awards and recognitions, and even earning several 'big time' sponsorships from industry leaders such as Tippmann Sports.
